#STYLEATMINE SPRING CHALLENGE

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We seriously can’t wait for Spring! It’s still quite cold here, in fact we had snow last week! However there are some sings of Spring and we’ve spotted some lovely blossom. With all this talk of Spring, you might have guessed already. The theme this month is of course SPRING! We would love to see your Spring homes, so take part on #StyleAtMine.

To launch the Spring challenge we’ve teamed up with two truly amazing artists. Silke Bonde and Jono Smart. Silke Bonde is a designer and artist based in Copenhagen – we are a huge fan of her latest work in Pantone 2016 colours. Silke did the beautiful styling in these photos with the minimal and super stylist pottery by sold out artist Jono Smart.  Jono used to travel the world and has worked with some really talented people. Then one day he sat down at a pottery wheel and felt at home. He’s not looked back and has now got a  beautiful collection of minimal pottery to his name.  Do check out their work, we’re sure you’re going to love it!

Si from French by Design

About Si At Mine French by Design

You would be forgiven to think that penning one of the top 5 blogs in interior design rankings worldwide and working with design 24/7 would make a style snob out of anyone. Not so with Si however. The San Francisco based blogger behind French by Design is all about authenticity – something we can relate to so well as that’s just what at{mine} is about. And to top it off she’s just about the coolest, funnest and nicest person you can imagine. So imagine our joy when Si agreed to run a bi-weekly blog series entirely dedicated to real interiors found on at{mine}.

The series will feature anything from plant shelfies, over pets on furniture, to inspiration around a certain room or colour and full house tours. Catch Si’s eye by following her on at{mine} and adding #MineByDesign in the comments to your images, and your home might just be the star of her next post!

We caught up with Si to chat blogging, style, and life.

Interview: Silkie Lloyd of Rosehip Paper & Home

atmine_SilkieLloyd01

Today we are spending a creative and inspiring day at the floral wreath making workshop with all winners of the recently finished Styling Spring at{mine} challenge. As one of 13 judges we had the honour to pick one personal favorite and our eye was caught by the serene and balanced spring styling by Silkie Lloyd of Rosehip Paper & Home, a designer, illustrator and avid beta member in our at{mine} community. We used the opportunity to speak to Silkie and learn more about her interior stylings, her work as an illustrator and her views on the at{mine} community.

Silkie, how do you approach stylings in general, do you have a certain technique, do you have any styling rules?

I always approach styling colour first, as I do when I am designing a new paper collection. I wouldn’t say I have any rules as such and work instinctively until I feel like it’s perfectly balanced – after colour I think about how the shapes of the objects interact & create harmony and I always consider negative space, whilst trying to remember that less is more!

HelloSpring

Spring is in the air

The sun is shining and at{mine} is abloom with flowers and florals. Happy days!

We’re loving the wonderful new content our members are contributing to the site. From abstract flouros and lipstick colours, to a fresh take on celebrating spring with vegetables and shoots – we are seriously inspired by their creativity.

at{mine} are proud to see the community grow and develop far and wide.

New kid on the blogs

We’re delighted by the positive response we’ve had from the interiors blogger community.

Hot off the press this morning is this lovely feature by the thrifty and witty Kimberly of Swoon Worthy Blog.

On the other side of the pond, Gloribell shares her thoughts on our “mini heaven on the web” on her blog: I don’t know how she does it.

Survival of the fittest

Parris Wakefield Range Baltra Sofa

Keeping up with our ‘behind the scenes’ blog series on the exciting brands that we are working with, we move nicely from the sophistication of London’s Belgrave Place to the environmentally conscious Galapagos.

More than a vintage furniture company, Galapagos is a brand that celebrates iconic design transformed for a modern enthusiast. Their upcycled chairs in a range of fabrics and finishes make stunning statement pieces that you will cherish from this generation to the next.

In her previous life founder Lucy Mortimer worked tirelessly to support environmental conservation before deciding to channel her strong beliefs into something more creative and with a long-standing passion for design, Galapagos was the result.

We sat down with Lucy to get the low down on Galapagos.

at{mine} is live in private beta!

Welcome kit

The time has finally come… after a long year – with plenty of blood, sweat and tears – at{mine} is now live in private beta!

Our first handpicked group of beta members are receiving their keys to the castle in the old school mail (ironic for a digital company – but who doesn’t love a pretty envelope in the post as a respite from the usual bills!).

Meaning that we now have actual live users roaming free on atmine.com, helping to shape the direction of the site with the amazing content they contribute and the inspiring people they invite to join.

And without wanting to toot our own horn too much (or do we?!), here is what some of our beta members have to say about us:

The doors to our beta will (finally!) open early in the New Year on an invite-only basis. Hope to see you there!

In the meantime, have a look at our latest Newsletter for some jingle-y stocking filler ideas picked from amongst our at{mine} partner brands!
