DIY: Add a silver (gold or copper) lining

As part of April’s DIY styling challenge, we’ve invited our good friend Janice  to share one of her master DIYs with us. Janice recently won our Bathroom challenge with her gorgeous DIY copper bath. Now she’s sharing her metallic-leafing tricks with the community. Over to you Janice!

For my DIY project I thought I would talk about how to Gold/Silver and Copper leaf objects. You can do this on absolutely anything, from plant pots to furniture and baths.  For the sake of these photos I chose to copper leaf a plant pot to illustrate the process. I already had some real copper pots and adding the copper to some terracotta pots gives me a few different ones for the kitchen to match with my copper pans.

Willow Maurice on atmine

We were really excited when Willow Maurice joined at{mine} a few months ago.  Willow’s style is minimal, but also very Nordic. In her home she mixes black and white with shades of grey, but she can also do sweet and girly. Her daughter’s pink room is the complete opposite and of course it’s still just as fabulous as the rest of the home!  As a stylist, Willow’s home is forever changing, so we really enjoy her frequent uploads. She’s sharing some future plans with us and also some styling tips, so keep reading!

Interview: Annie & Tiff from Function and Form

at{mine} founding members Annie Kruse and Tiffany Grant-Riley got to know each other through at{mine} when we had our very first community event – then still in invite-only beta – at{West Elm} a little over a year ago. Now they have joined forces to create Function and Form, a series of collaborative gatherings that combine informal dining with handcrafted design, which we are proud to support. The inaugural gathering is taking place at{Heal’s} later this month.

We caught up with Tiffany, an interior stylist and the blogger behind Curate & Display, and Annie, a graphic designer, creative mind behind the Stylejuicer blog and founder of kids label Wild Boys & Girls. We also invited both to style a table setting for November’s #StyleAtMine challenge, using products by our brand partner, iconic British cook ware label Falcon Enamel.

Luckily Sara is as lovely in real life as we had imagined through social media glimpses of her life, and she made our dream collaboration a reality! Behind the scenes with Lumitrix

Fine art photography site Lumitrix is one of our earliest and best-loved beta members, so when its founder Cara Connell asked at{mine} to take part in their lifestyle Lumitrix Living edition, we jumped at the chance.  Lumitrix Living shows the brand’s fine art prints in situ in real homes and shares the story of the people behind them, which we (not surprisingly!) find an inspired way to showcase their appeal and versatility. We feel honoured to be selected to feature amongst the gorgeous homes and interesting stories of creatives from around the globe.

We caught up with Cara to share Lumitrix story and take you behind-the-scenes of the afternoon spent shooting the home of one of the at{mine} founders.
